Unselling a horse

For those who do not know, my career has been in sales. I have sold hardware, software and 'untangibles' and I have been pretty good at it. I really don't think it is that hard, because in reality, it is just finding out what people need and selling them what works for them.

When it comes to horses, I am NOT very good at sales. I am very picky about where my horses go, I want a very good personality fit and I want my horses to be happy.

So today, I tried to 'unsell' Tesoro and it didn't work. She wants to come ride him again, she is actually interested in leasing him, but maybe to buy him long term. We will see. . .maybe I can give him a bad habit or two before she comes back.

Mom says "Somebody likes Tesoro?" They might be a match. Not to worry.

I am confused.

If you have changed your mind and don't want to sell him (or don't want to sell him to her) why don't you just tell her that you are sorry, you changed your mind?

All I am getting for people inquiring on Bailey is offers to trade their QH/Paint for her.

Cold hard cash seems to be hard to come by right now.

It isn't that I don't want to sell him, I just don't want to sell him to the wrong person. Tesoro is a LOT of horse and he takes a skilled rider.

I don't want to sell him to the wrong person because he deserves a good home with someone who will appreciate him.

So, I am very honest about his past, his history and what it takes-often 'unselling' the horse. Does that make sense?

I am up-to-speed now!

Thanks for the clarification, that makes perfect sense and I hope the world sees a shift to more people being so honest they "unsell" their horses as well!
