Turning down dollars

I consider myself a pretty resourceful person. I am learning how I someday might make money with this blog ($2.30 so far this month), at least enough to buy a bag of grain occasionally. You may have read my Blogsvertise post earlier and today they sent me my first real assignment.

And you know what? I turned it down. Yep. Turned it down because it had to do with pets not horses. I realize there is a pic or two of my dogs on here, but I don't write about dogs. I write about horses. I want solutioons for horses, equipment for horses, training techniques for horses. DID I SAY HORSES????

So, my dear readers, I stuck to my guns. Besides, how can I review a product that I have never used? Especially one that claims what this one did. How can I possibly do that? I can't.

PS Did I mention I am #11 in Google search for Blogsvertise? Funny huh?

Hey There!
I think your blog is great and I admire your convictions but you may want to rethink the paid blogging thing. To date I have earned roughly $3000 from paid blogging (6 months all together but made $2000 of it in 3 months). I have blogged for a number of companies including Blogsvertise. If you get a little creative you can make a post relavant to your site even if it's not directly about horses. I took the same Blogsvertise offer and I wrote an article about "Dogs and Horses". The fact is that your dogs are probably part of your horse life so therefore writing about dogs and horses doesn't change the feel of your blog. I have a special category for sponsored posts so I personally might take paid opps that don't directly deal with horses. Most of the paid blogging opps don't require that you speak about there website, just the subject and add the required link. If you are creative you can relate just about anything to horses.
Anyway, this is the way I handle it. Paid bloggig seems to be "the wave of the future" so don't limit yourself too much. Besides most of your readers know how exspensive horses are and I am sure would understand your need for some cash. Lord knows I am a broke horse owner. I have a blog were I write about paid blogging (I have a list of paid blogging sites)and other financial issues if you want to check it out >> Time To Budget
Anyway, good luck with your paid blogging ventures. Great blog by the way.
